Install & safety

Is it safe to install an APK from a website?

The file is signed with Mori's official certificate and only offered on this page. Before you download, check that the address bar ends in moricycle.com — our download host dl.moricycle.com is run by us too.

To go further and confirm the file wasn't altered, compare it against the SHA-256 checksum on this page (next question).

How do I verify the APK?

Use a file-checksum utility, or run this on a computer:

Windows: certutil -hashfile Mori-1.0.1.apk SHA256
macOS / Linux: shasum -a 256 Mori-1.0.1.apk

If the output exactly matches the value under "View the SHA-256 checksum" above, you have the original installer.

Android warns about "unknown sources". Is something wrong?

No. Mori isn't on an app store yet, so Android flags every app installed from a browser. Allow the install for this one file — you can revoke the permission right after.

What permissions does Mori need?

None on first launch. Mori asks for notification permission only when you turn a reminder on, and it never reads your contacts, location or photos.

Is Mori on Google Play?

Not yet. The signed APK above is the official install and the fastest way to get it — updates ship here first, before any store.

Do I need an account to use it?

No. Open it and start logging — no sign-up, no email, no phone number. An email is only needed if you later turn on optional cloud sync.

Using it

My cycles are all over the place. Will this work for me?

Yes. Mori doesn't require regular cycles and won't label you "abnormal" for having one. Predictions come from your own records: the more your cycles vary, the wider the date range, with a lower-confidence label shown. With too little history, Mori simply says it can't predict yet — it won't guess.

Can I use the ovulation estimate for contraception or trying to conceive?

Not recommended. The ovulation day is an estimate derived from your cycle history — useful as a reference, but it is not a contraceptive method and can't replace a doctor's advice. For family-planning or health questions, please see a doctor.

How do updates work?

New versions are released on this page first. Download the new APK and install it over the old one — your records carry over. Please don't uninstall the old version first: uninstalling deletes all records stored on the phone.

Data & privacy

Are my records uploaded?

Not by default. With sync off, everything stays on this phone and the app works fully offline. Records only leave the device after you turn on cloud sync — they're encrypted on your phone first, so we can't read them either.

Do my records survive an uninstall or a data wipe?

If sync was off, they don't — uninstalling erases them for good. Export a backup first (JSON / CSV / readable summary).

What happens when I get a new phone?

Either of these works:

  1. Cloud sync: install Mori on the new phone, sign in with the same email, and your records migrate automatically.
  2. Manual export: export a file on the old phone, copy it over, and import it. Completely free.
Will a notification give me away?

No. Lock-screen reminders only say something neutral like "you may want to check" — no "period" or "ovulation" wording. Period and ovulation reminders can be turned off independently.

Does it cost anything?

Logging, predictions, reminders, export and deletion are all free — not a trial, and they won't be paywalled later. The one paid option is cloud sync: US$3.99 once, lifetime access, no subscription, no auto-renewal. Skipping it doesn't limit anything on your phone.

How do I pay? Can I get a refund?

Major international payment methods are accepted — the checkout page shows the current options. Your license key arrives right after payment, and orders are refundable until the key is redeemed. See the Purchase & Refund Policy.

When is the iPhone version coming?

We're working through the App Store's requirements and don't have a date yet. We'll announce it here the moment it ships — or leave your email above and we'll notify you.
